Assignments
Use this guide for internal assignments, projects, and submissions alongside the PDF notes on this site.
1. Before you start
- Read the question sheet and marking scheme (if provided).
- Note word limits, citation style (Bluebook / ILI / as directed), and deadline (date and time).
- Clarify group vs individual work with the subject teacher.
2. Standard structure (essay / problem type)
- Title page — Subject, assignment title, your name & roll number, date.
- Introduction — Scope of the question; statutes / concepts you will use.
- Main body — Issues, rules, application (IRAC for problem questions).
- Conclusion — Short, direct answer to the question.
- References — Bare Acts, cases, books; avoid unreliable blogs unless allowed.
3. Problem-style answers (contracts, torts, crime)
- Use IRAC: Issue → Rule → Application → Conclusion.
- State facts you assume if the question is incomplete (and say so).
- Cite sections of Acts and key case holdings where relevant.
4. Drafting & formatting
- Font: Often 12 pt Times New Roman; line spacing 1.5 unless specified.
- Margins and page numbers as per department format.
- Plagiarism: Quote sparingly; paraphrase with attribution.
5. Submission checklist
- [ ] PDF named as per convention (e.g.
RollNo_Subject_Assignment.pdf). - [ ] File size within portal limit; scan readable (not blurry).
- [ ] Covering email / portal form filled if required.
6. Linking to notes on this hub
For each subject, download the relevant chapter notes from Subject → Notes, and use them as your secondary source after your class notes and prescribed textbook.
